Fears Chella | Polaroid Review

Freshly formed in 2016, Stoke and Manchester boys Fears Chella are no strangers to the music scene. Inspired by musicians from Nirvana to Wolf Alice, they have performed at various intimate festivals across the country and toured with alternative rock bands ‘The Big Moon’ and ‘Indoors Pets’ fka ‘Get Inuit’. Chella are now fuelled up to take the stage themselves, proud to announce their first full UK headline tour this March, kicking it off at Birmingham’s ‘Actress & Bishop’.

Coinciding with Valentine’s week their fourth studio release, ‘Polaroid’ is out today bringing a higher energy than their previous tracks with drum-beats that align hearts all round and lyrics that play games with your heartstrings. Grab a polaroid and your lover’s hand as you delve into this 90s indie dream rock world captivated by the tuneful guitar riffs, locked in place with the underlying bass.

This lustful track epitomises teenage romances chasing after an abandoned lover who’s moved onto other people encapsulating those isolating feelings and mix of emotions in a snapshot moment. “You’re like a dream and I can’t get you out of mine,” defines the unrequited feelings trapped within bubbles of people who all desire the feeling of belonging and romantic love despite it not being reciprocated.

Be sure to catch the boys on their UK tour at the following dates:

Friday 2nd March | Birmingham | Actress & Bishop

Thursday 8th March | London | Old Blue Last
