Entering into a small office space, the unjust bright lighting blinds us on the way in to be faced with: Tom, Cameron, Archie and new member Chris sat on a pale-peach, velvet vintage couch just before their show at the Komedia in Brighton. Dressed up mainly in a signature black and eating vegan katsu curry we caught up with what they had been up to in the studio.
The overall Alternative Rock Show event was set up by Event House Promotions and included two other bands.

The striking pop punk band Out of Reach who's amazing vocalist, Ellie, had pipes that filled the whole room and a blue-haired bassist, David, with an amazing charisma. The whole band gave a brilliant performance even delving into the realm of random pop songs like Wonderwall and All Star which the guitarist, Amy, knew off the top of her head. They're releasing a new EP soon called 'No Apologies' featuring the single 'History'.
Following after were punk-jocks Funkzilla performing an incredible genre mix of rock with funk - fused melodies. Intrigued from the first moment, as they set-up on stage in matching basketball style kit Funkzilla caught my eye from the outset as despite their matching, they all had a unique identity further expressed through their eclectic hairstyles and connection through the music. They have also just released their debut album which you can listen to below.
Closing the show were headline act - Crownhouse performing debut album '3AM' along with new tracks, 'Careful' and 'Leave Me Be' from their upcoming album which has been described as
"being lighter, happier and more pop-punky [than 3AM] but still with similar themes to close off the 3AM cycle"
explained lead singer Tom and drummer Archie.
They gave an astounding performance opening for the first time with 'I Don't Know'. Crownhouse really engage with their audience during their performances with bucketfuls of energy fired across the stage.
The small studio space of the Komedia created a homely atmosphere where everyone was there to enjoy the music they loved with the people they loved or people they came to know.
During 'Uplift', they called for a mini moshpit that ended up being two people jumping around but no one took themselves too seriously - they were there for the fun of it.

As the show drew to a close with '3AM' Crownhouse pushed it with their all. Tom jumped off stage whilst everyone threw their business cards out on to the crowd.
Briefly catching up with Tom after the set he said "If I don't come off the stage looking like this, I don't feel like I've given it enough." That's how you know it was a good show for them.
"It was the best night but the worst morning after I'm in so [much] pain." Recalls Cameron the day after the show.
All in all, Event House Promotions did a great job of getting all these local bands together to connect over the one thing they love, have a great time together and share it with the world.
